Our Christmas Table

I must admit I'm very proud of this table setting, I'm even more thrilled that everything on this table was less that$50.00!! Get a pen and paper because I'm going to tell you how I did it. The white plates, napkins and napkin rings, I bought last year after Christmas at Target for 70% off. The place mats, glass wine goblets (which are thick and sturdy) were bought at the Dollar Tree. I found the glass cylinder container at on sale at pottery barn, which was a little pricey at about $30.00 (and not included in the total) but I use it all year round and for every season and holiday. I have seen similar glass containers at Wal-Mart for $10.00-$20.00, they are a great investment and very versatile as you will see with a lot of my holiday projects. I purchased the ornaments from Wal-Mart, they are the shatterproof 24 in a container for $5.00 and you can use them year after year. I tied some ribbon around the stem of the wine goblet and placed an ornament in each goblet. My favorite purchase were the gold chargers from Wal-Mart and they were only $5.oo for all four! The chargers also come in silver and red. You can also use the chargers to place in the center of a table with some small ornaments, glass beads, or tinsel and a candle, use extreme caution when lighting candles with other objects in the container, I primarily use these as decoration only. And the sweet angel ornaments were gifts from my mother for my first Christmas tree as an adult.

I hope you can use some of these ideas to make a beautiful and inexpensive table setting for this holiday season.

Enjoy!

Helpful Hint: Look through your old holiday decorations and maybe ask your mom, grandma or aunt for some old holiday heirloom ornaments. You can also place a pretty holiday name tag inside the wine goblet as a name place card.Posted by Picasa
